Celebrate National Grandparents Day with GaGa Sisterhood

You’re invited to attend our GaGa Sisterhood meeting on September 11, 2022, and celebrate National Grandparents Day with author Shirley Showalter. We’ll be meeting on Zoom from 2 to 4 pm PST. All grandmas are welcome. You can find the details on our GaGa Sisterhood Meetup page.

As grandparents, we have a third opportunity to experience awe in our lifetimes. We start out “gaga” — and we can stay that way — if we consciously choose mindfulness. Shirley will share ten themes from her new book “The Mindful Grandparent: The Art of Loving Our Children’s Children.”

Shirley is an award-winning educator and author. Previously president of Goshen College and executive at The Fetzer Institute, Shirley is the author of a 2013 memoir “Blush: A Mennonite Girl Meets the Glittering World.” Shirley’s passion now is learning with and from her grandchildren: Owen age 11, Julia age 9, and Lydia age 5.

  1. Thank you so much. Great program idea. Do you ever provide sponsorships for your programs? I am looking for ways to promote my book, “Legacy of Laughter: A Grandparent Guide and Playbook.” As a retired educator author who volunteers to teach humor studies classes for AATH (Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor), I am looking for ways to share this resource for grandparents as they support their grandchildren from today’s traumas including the pandemic. This web site has tons of free resources for grandparents. Would be honored if you would share this. Thank you!
