Casting Call for Grandma Thanksgiving Cook-off

Note: The Food Network found their four finalists and they will compete on “Chopped” airing November 18, 19, and 22. See my new post “Clash of the Grandmas on Food Network.”

Are you an out-going grandma who loves to cook Thanksgiving dinner for your family? Do you love the thrill of competition?

A major cable network is on the hunt for a few grandmothers to battle it out in a fun new Thanksgiving throwdown. The show will be a competition, but in the Holiday spirit. And it’s all going to be lighthearted fun.

From tasty turkey to perfect pumpkin pie, the producers are looking for the most delectable Thanksgiving dinners being dished up by everyone’s favorite — grandmothers!

If you have the wit of Betty White and the skills of Betty Crocker, this is your chance to prove that you make the best Thanksgiving meal in America. Whether you rule the family kitchen or rock in a professional kitchen, apply now.

The show is looking for fun, out-going grandmother’s who love to cook and aren’t afraid of competition! The show will be lighthearted in tone, but it is still a competition. All applicants should be well versed in cooking complete Thanksgiving meals, whether they stay very traditional or mix it up with different dishes and recipes. The producers are open to home chefs, former professional chefs and cooks and current chefs/cooks.

The show is currently casting nation wide. All initial interviews will take place over Skype. Filming is scheduled for August, exact dates are TBD.

To enter the competition, send an email to grandmothercasting@leg-corp.com. Please put the city/state in the subject line and include your name, phone number, email address and occupation in the body of your email. In addition, please describe your cooking style, signature dishes, and why you believe you (or your nominee) are perfect for the show.

Good luck and may the best grandma win! (Be sure to say you saw this on GaGa Sisterhood.)
